Oppo Find X8 Ultra: A Masterpiece You Can’t Officially Own in India Yet

While Indian tech lovers welcomed the Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro with open arms in November 2024, many waited for the elusive Ultra model. Now unveiled overseas, the Oppo Find X8 Ultra remains a distant dream for India, yet its brilliance cannot go unnoticed.

From the moment you hold it, the Find X8 Ultra whispers luxury. Weighing 226g, its solid build, elegant back texture, and well-placed buttons feel deliberate. It’s no shouty show-off — it’s confidence wrapped in glass. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, it’s tough and trustworthy. The quick-access side button, shared with the X8 Pro, subtly elevates your camera game. Speaking of visuals, the flat LTPO AMOLED display with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and 120Hz refresh rate dazzles at 2500 nits. Watching content or scrolling feels rich and alive, and dual stereo speakers make it all more immersive.

Inside Find X8, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chip paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage makes it a smooth, snappy performer. It handles multitasking and gaming with ease, although it does warm up under pressure. Even so, the large vapor chamber and smart thermal design keep things in check.

We used the China variant and had to install Google apps manually. Yet, the ColorOS 15 skin atop Android 15 felt polished. With iOS-inspired design, dynamic animations, and smooth transitions, it bridges the Android-iOS gap gracefully. Oppo’s AI suite — including AI Writer, Search, and VoiceScribe — adds productivity finesse, while photo editing tools like AI Eraser and Remove Reflections make post-shooting edits magical.

The main camera still boasts a 1-inch sensor, delivering striking shots. Dual telephoto lenses bring versatility — one even allows macro-style close-ups at just 10cm. Long-range zoom is crisp and stable. Meanwhile, the True Chroma sensor enriches colors and tones like a painter’s final touch. The selfie camera, now with autofocus, impresses in clarity and detail.

Video recording is pro-grade with 4K60 across all cameras, 4K120 slow-mo, and cinematic features like Dolby Vision and manual controls.

The verdict? A photographic powerhouse with refined elegance, but its India fate remains a question.
