Opera Neon introduces one minute deep research mode and Google Docs support

Opera has introduced a new one minute Deep Research mode in its AI powered Neon browser. This is a faster version of its existing ODRA Deep Research Agent tool. As reported by a common publication, the new mode provides short research summaries in under a minute. The update also adds support for Google Docs through the Neon Do agent and brings a new model selector for Neon Chat.

The one minute Deep Research mode builds on the full Deep Research feature that was launched last October. Opera explained that this faster option aims to give users quick, useful insights. The publication quoted Opera as saying, “In the new one minute research mode, Opera Neon is dividing the problem as much as possible in order to employ as many researchers as possible on the same task. This new mode for the deep research agent acts as a point in between a simple AI query and a full on deep research that turns useful since the user is not always in need of a full deep research for every query that requires a little bit more than just an AI overview.”

Google Docs integration for the Do agent

The update also introduces Google Docs integration for Neon’s Do agent. According to the report, the AI assistant can now help users draft, edit, or refine content directly inside Google Docs without switching between tabs. Users can create a new document by selecting the Do agent in the omnibox and stating in their prompt that they want to open a new document. Existing files can also be edited, updated with web sourced information when needed, or renamed.

New model selector in Neon Chat

Opera has also added a model selector in Neon Chat. As per the report, users can now choose between different AI models such as Google’s Gemini 3 Pro and Nano Banana Pro. They can also switch models during a conversation.

What Opera Neon offers

Opera Neon is an AI first browser introduced in September 2025. It focuses on helping users complete tasks on the web. It uses specialised AI agents that gather information, automate online actions, generate content, or manage workflows. Neon includes agents like Chat, Do, Make and the Deep Research Agent. It also supports workflow Cards for repeated tasks such as summaries and comparisons.

Opera Neon is available through a subscription priced at 19.99 dollars per month. It has not yet been released widely and India pricing has not been announced. Interested users can sign up for the waitlist through Opera’s official website.
