OpenAI Introduces a $50M partnership for AI Research and Education

NextGenAI, a new cooperation of 15 top academic universities, was unveiled by OpenAI to speed up AI-driven innovations in education and research.

“Excited for this-advancing research and education with AI,” wrote CEO Sam Altman on X.To help hospitals, libraries, and universities use AI, the company is investing $50 million in funding, computing power, and API access.

AI in digital health, manufacturing, energy, transportation, and agriculture is being advanced by Ohio State University. AI is being used by Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard University to improve AI alignment in healthcare and diagnose uncommon illnesses. To find out how AI may advance science, Duke University is studying metascience. Students at Texas A&M University are receiving instruction on how to utilize AI responsibly. Students may train and improve AI models with MIT’s API access. AI is being used into teaching, curriculum, and institutional operations at Howard institutional. Rare books in the Bodleian Library are being digitized by the University of Oxford. To increase accessibility, the Boston Public Library is digitizing works that are in the public domain.

NextGenAI strengthens OpenAI’s academic collaborations when ChatGPT Edu was introduced in May 2024. The project will provide universities with cutting-edge AI resources and guarantee that the technology helps scholars, educators, and students everywhere.
