OpenAI has introduced new capabilities in ChatGPT aimed at making math and science learning more engaging and easier to understand. The update brings interactive visual tools that allow users to explore concepts dynamically rather than relying only on text explanations.
The company said ChatGPT has already become a widely used learning platform, with around 140 million people using it weekly to understand math and science topics, solve homework problems and prepare for exams.
Interactive visual learning
The newly introduced tools focus on visual explanations that help learners explore formulas, relationships and variables in real time.
Instead of simply reading about a concept, users can interact with mathematical expressions and see how changes in variables affect graphs or equations. This approach helps simplify complex ideas and makes abstract topics easier to understand.
For instance, learners can adjust variables and immediately observe how a formula or graph changes, helping them understand the underlying principles more clearly.
Support for multiple concepts
Currently, the new learning tools support more than 70 core math and science concepts, covering a range of topics commonly studied by students.
OpenAI said the coverage will expand further as the feature evolves, allowing more scientific and mathematical concepts to be explored interactively.
Focus on accessible education
The company said the goal of the update is to make difficult subjects more accessible to learners of all ages.
Many students struggle with math and science, and even parents often find it difficult to help children with homework. By combining AI guidance with interactive visuals, ChatGPT can walk users through concepts step by step.
This approach aims to make learning more intuitive and engaging, especially for users studying independently.
Global rollout
The new interactive learning experience is being rolled out globally and will be available across all ChatGPT plans.
With these enhancements, OpenAI aims to reshape how people learn complex subjects by blending AI explanations with real-time visual exploration tools.
