ONGC welcomes Vinod Seshan as Government Nominee Director on board

The appointment was approved by the company’s board and disclosed to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. ONGC also confirmed that Seshan is not debarred from holding the office of director by SEBI or any other authority and has no relationship with existing directors on the company’s board.

Vinod Seshan is a 2008 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Assam cadre.

He has more than 20 years of professional experience, including over 17 years in policy-making, infrastructure development, project management, district administration and crisis response.

During his career, Seshan has held several leadership positions as an administrator, team leader and project director. He has also served on the boards of government companies, including Oil India Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).

Before joining the civil services, Seshan worked in the software services sector in India, where he handled responsibilities related to software development, testing and knowledge management.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in Karnataka.

Seshan also earned Master’s degrees in Public Policy and Infrastructure, Investment and Finance from University College London.

His professional interests include large-scale infrastructure projects, financing models and sustainable development initiatives.
