OnePlus confirms Turbo series with gaming focus and segment leading battery

After months of speculation, OnePlus has officially confirmed the arrival of its new Turbo lineup. The announcement was made by OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis, who said the Turbo brand is not a single smartphone but a full series that will launch soon.

The confirmation came during OnePlus’s 12th anniversary event held on Sunday. While exact specifications were not revealed, Li Jie highlighted two major promises for the Turbo series: “strongest battery life in its class” and “frighteningly strong performance.”

In a post shared on a social media platform, Li Jie said the Turbo series will carry the same “performance genes” as OnePlus flagship devices. This has sparked speculation that some models in the lineup could use the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset found in the OnePlus 15. The executive also confirmed that the Turbo series will be focused on gaming performance.

No pricing details were shared, and OnePlus has not yet clarified where the Turbo lineup will sit within its current product range. Earlier reports had suggested that a Turbo branded phone could launch in India within the next 2 months, though the company has not confirmed this timeline.

Past leaks had pointed to a device called the OnePlus Ace 6 Turbo, which many believed was the same product now confirmed as Turbo. However, Li Jie’s statement makes it clear that Turbo is a separate lineup and not a single device. This suggests that the rumoured Ace 6 Turbo may become part of the Turbo series rather than the Ace 6 or Ace 6T range.

The leaked device is expected to feature a 6.78 inch LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate. It is also tipped to pack a large 9,000mAh battery, which aligns with OnePlus’s claim of class leading battery performance.

The same reports suggest a China launch timeline of January or February 2026. However, there are conflicting details about the chipset, with some sources claiming the phone could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 and positioned as a mid range offering.

With limited official details available, more clarity on the Turbo series lineup, specifications and global availability is expected in the coming months.
