OnePlus confirms Turbo 6 series China launch with flagship level features

OnePlus has officially announced the launch timeline for its upcoming Turbo 6 series in China. The line-up will include 2 smartphones called the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V. The company confirmed that both devices will debut on January 8 at 7 pm local time, which is 6.30 am IST. Along with the date, OnePlus has also revealed the design and several key specifications ahead of the launch event.

Both phones share a similar visual identity. They feature a square shaped camera module on the rear that houses a dual camera setup along with an LED flash. The devices are expected to come with a matte finish frame and colour matched edges. The OnePlus Turbo 6 will be available in black, silver and turquoise colour options, while the Turbo 6V will launch in black and silver variants.

The OnePlus Turbo 6 is positioned as the more powerful model. It will feature a 1.5K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone will have a plastic frame and comes with IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. OnePlus has confirmed the presence of the Adreno 825 GPU and the device will run on Android 16.

In terms of cameras, the OnePlus Turbo 6 will offer a 50 megapixel primary rear sensor and an 8 megapixel secondary lens. For selfies and video calls, it will feature a 32 megapixel front facing camera. The phone will include an optical in display fingerprint sensor for security. Powering the device is a massive 9000mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The Turbo 6V will share the same battery, camera system and connectivity features but will feature a 6.8 inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and will be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset.
