OnePlus 15 Specifications Leak Suggests Major Upgrades Over Its Predecessor

The OnePlus 15 has already started to create a buzz months before its official launch. Early leaks suggest that the brand is preparing one of its most ambitious flagship smartphones yet. Interestingly, the company is skipping the “14” name entirely, reportedly because of the cultural superstition surrounding the number 4 in China. This makes the OnePlus 15 the direct successor to the OnePlus 13, which debuted earlier this year.

According to reports, the OnePlus 15 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is expected to be the fastest Android processor of 2025. The device may also feature up to 16 GB of RAM and as much as 1 TB of internal storage, clearly targeting heavy users and performance enthusiasts.

The display is rumoured to be a 6.8 inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 2K resolution and a smooth 144 Hz refresh rate. This positions it as a strong competitor to upcoming flagships like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Battery life could also see an improvement, with leaks pointing to a 5,500 mAh cell paired with 100W fast charging support.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 15 is expected to include a triple camera system with a 50 MP main sensor featuring optical image stabilisation, a 50 MP ultra wide lens, and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens. If accurate, this would be a step up from the OnePlus 13, which offered a 48 MP telephoto sensor.

When compared to its predecessor, the upgrades are noticeable. The OnePlus 13 shipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor and a slightly smaller 5,400 mAh battery. Its 6.7 inch 120 Hz display also falls short of the new 6.8 inch 144 Hz panel expected on the OnePlus 15. These improvements suggest the new device could offer a much better experience for gaming, streaming, and photography.

OnePlus has not confirmed any details yet, but the company usually launches its flagship models in the first quarter of the year. If this trend continues, the OnePlus 15 could arrive in early 2026. If these leaks prove accurate, the phone is shaping up to be one of the strongest contenders in the premium Android market next year.
