Oman To Launch Golden Visa Programme For Investors And Long-Term Residency

Oman will officially launch its Golden Visa programme for investors on 31 August 2025 as part of its efforts to attract international investment and accelerate digital transformation in trade and commerce.

The new programme offers renewable five or ten-year residency permits for investors and their families, including spouses, children under 25, and dependent parents, without the need for local sponsorship. Visa holders will also enjoy full ownership rights of their businesses in Oman.

Eligibility can be achieved through real estate purchases, company ownership, or capital investment in key sectors such as information technology, renewable energy, tourism, and real estate. The programme also provides benefits such as tax exemptions, property ownership in freehold zones, and access to healthcare and education.

The initiative aligns with Oman’s Vision 2040, which focuses on economic diversification and creating a stable, business-friendly environment. Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Douhani, Director-General of Planning at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, said the programme is designed to foster sustainable growth by combining regulatory reforms with long-term support for high-performing Omani firms.

The Golden Visa will be launched alongside the “Al Majida Companies” initiative to support local businesses and a new digital platform that enables the electronic transfer of commercial registrations through the “Oman Business” system. This digital reform aims to reduce operational costs, save time, and enhance transparency in business processes.

The launch event in Salalah will also see Oman sign cooperation agreements with institutions including Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology, the Oman Energy Association, and Ebinaa. These partnerships aim to integrate academic research with private sector expertise to drive innovation and growth in the construction sector.

Oman’s Golden Visa programme and new digital business reforms mark a significant step in attracting foreign investment and modernising trade systems. By simplifying business processes and offering long-term residency, Oman is positioning itself as a global hub for investment and sustainable growth.
