Features and specifications
Meta says the Oakley Meta Glasses are performance artificial intelligence glasses created for athletes and sports enthusiasts. They have a twelve megapixel camera that supports video recording in up to three K resolution. This is an improvement over the one thousand eighty p resolution available in the first generation Ray Ban Meta Glasses.
The camera and an LED light sit on each side of the frame. The light also acts as a recording indicator. Users can capture point of view footage using a dedicated capture button. The glasses also support first person live streaming on apps such as Instagram. A penta microphone array is included for audio recording.
Like the Ray Ban Meta Glasses, the Oakley Meta Glasses allow users to take calls and send messages. The built in voice assistant can be activated with the prompt “Hey Meta” for hands free use. The glasses can provide real time information about weather, leisure planning and culinary advice. They also support music playback through Apple Music, Spotify and other apps.
The company says the Oakley Meta HSTN Glasses offer up to eight hours of typical use on a single charge and up to nineteen hours on standby. The charging case provides up to forty eight hours of charging. The glasses have an IPX four rating for protection against dust and water.
