Lepton AI is apparently being discussed for acquisition by Nvidia.
The Information claims that the semiconductor behemoth is getting close to purchasing Lepton AI, a business that leases servers that run on Nvidia’s AI hardware. The publication claims the sale is for several hundred million dollars, citing anonymous sources.
Lepton AI was established two years ago, and in May 2023, the CRV and Fusion Funds contributed $11 million to its seed round. Together AI, a firm that is only a year or so older than Lepton but has already received over $500 million in venture money, is the second major participant in the server renting industry.
