Nvidia forecasts $1 trillion demand for Blackwell and Rubin AI chips

Amid growing momentum in the AI industry, Nvidia has shared a bold revenue outlook that highlights the scale of demand for its next-generation chips. During the company’s annual GTC Conference in San Jose, California, CEO Jensen Huang pointed to a massive surge in expected orders for its Blackwell and Vera Rubin architectures.

Huang revealed that Nvidia is now projecting at least $1 trillion in orders for these AI chips through 2027. This marks a sharp jump from the $500 billion demand the company had reported last year for Blackwell and the upcoming Rubin chips through 2026. The revised estimate reflects accelerating interest in advanced AI infrastructure across industries.

“Now, I don’t know if you guys feel the same way, but $500 billion is an enormous amount of revenue,” Huang said. “Well, I’m here to tell you that right now where I stand — a few short months after GTC DC, one year after last GTC — right here where I stand, I see through 2027, at least $1 trillion.” The Rubin architecture, first introduced in 2024, represents Nvidia’s most advanced AI hardware to date and is expected to outperform Blackwell significantly.

According to the company, Rubin chips can deliver up to 3.5x faster performance in model training and 5x faster speeds in inference tasks compared to Blackwell, reaching up to 50 petaflops. Nvidia began production of Rubin in January and plans to ramp up manufacturing in the second half of the year, further supporting its ambitious growth projections.
