NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom have announced a strategic collaboration to establish a new industrial AI cloud for the continent. This partnership aims to provide European enterprises with a robust and secure platform to develop and deploy cutting-edge generative AI solutions.
The initiative combines NVIDIA’s comprehensive full-stack accelerated computing platform, which includes its advanced GPUs and AI software, with Deutsche Telekom’s robust cloud infrastructure, powered by Open Telekom Cloud. This synergy is designed to create a sovereign AI platform that ensures data residency and compliance with stringent European data regulations, a critical concern for many businesses in the region.
The objective of this collaboration of Nvidia is to empower European enterprises across various sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and the public sector, to leverage the power of generative AI for their digital transformation journeys. The platform will enable companies to innovate faster, optimize operations, and create new services while maintaining control over their sensitive data.
Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Europe has incredible industrial strength and a massive opportunity to lead in the new era of generative AI. Our collaboration with Deutsche Telekom will provide a secure, sovereign AI platform for European enterprises to build their future.”
Echoing this sentiment, Tim Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom, emphasized the strategic importance of this venture for the European economy. “We are bringing a powerful combination of sovereign cloud and world-class AI infrastructure to European companies,” Höttges commented. “This partnership with NVIDIA will enable our customers to innovate and compete globally while keeping their data safely within Europe.”
The new industrial AI cloud is expected to offer a comprehensive suite of AI tools and services, enabling businesses to train, fine-tune, and deploy large language models and other generative AI applications efficiently. This collaboration of Nvidia will significantly reduce the barriers for European companies looking to integrate advanced AI into their operations, fostering a new wave of innovation across the continent. The platform is anticipated to be available to customers in early 2025.
