NTT DATA has appointed Alok Bajpai as Managing Director, India

Alok Bajpai was named managing director, India, for NTT DATA’s Global Data Centers segment on Wednesday. Bajpai will spearhead the company’s expansion plan in one of its most vibrant and quickly changing areas in this enlarged leadership position.

Bajpai was instrumental in pushing strategic objectives and building a solid financial basis for scalable development during his tenure as CFO of NTT Global Data Centers India. In his new role as managing director, he will be in charge of company operations and spearhead regional market growth initiatives.

“India is a fast-growing and important market in our overall global growth strategy, and Alok’s appointment ensures we will continue to deliver world-class infrastructure with agility and speed,” said Doug Adams, CEO and President, NTT Global Data Centers. “His strategic leadership will help guide our next phase of development in the region and support our commitment to sustainable innovation around the globe.”

Bajpai has more than thirty years of international leadership experience in a variety of sectors. He has held top management positions at AdaniConneX, CSS Corp, Intelligroup, and Infosys and has extensive experience in financial strategy, operational restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.

“India’s data centre market is at a pivotal moment, driven by the rising demand for scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure to power the nation’s digital evolution,” said Bajpai. “NTT Global Data Centers is already the leading data centre provider in the region, and my goal is to ensure we not only maintain, but also strengthen, this leadership as the market evolves.  My vision is to help build a future-ready ecosystem that addresses today’s enterprise needs while contributing to India’s broader economic and technological progress.”

NTT Global Data Centers is rapidly growing its data center presence throughout major Indian cities under Bajpai’s direction in order to satisfy the growing demand for business and AI-ready infrastructure. India, one of the digital economies with the highest rate of growth in the world, offers NTT Global Data Centers a significant chance to expand high-performance computing capacity and provide specialized assistance for AI workloads.

The business provides cutting-edge infrastructure solutions in the area, such as cutting-edge cooling systems made especially for artificial intelligence applications. NTT Global Data Centers increased energy efficiency by about 30% at its Navi Mumbai facility by implementing liquid immersion cooling (LIC) and direct contact liquid cooling (DLC). The company’s dedication to dependable and sustainable infrastructure is further demonstrated by the more than 100 MW of operational renewable energy already supported by its data centers in Bengaluru and Mumbai.

NTT Global Data Centers, the third-largest supplier of data centers worldwide, has over $10 billion in capital development to support its data center business’s future growth in both existing and new markets.
