London based technology brand Nothing has confirmed that its new true wireless stereo earbuds, the Nothing Ear 3, will launch on September 18. The company has also shared the first official look of the product, which introduces a refined design while retaining its signature style.
Unlike its predecessor, the Ear 2, which featured a transparent plastic case, the Ear 3 comes with a metallic finish made from 100 percent recycled anodised aluminium. The transparent top lid remains, but the upgraded case now offers a stronger and more premium feel, enhancing durability and visual appeal.
A notable highlight is the addition of a new ‘Talk button’ placed on the front of the case, separate from the pairing button inside. While Nothing has not disclosed its exact function, reports suggest it could activate a ‘Super Mic’ for clearer calls in noisy environments, enable a walkie talkie style mode between earbuds, or provide tools for content creation. This feature signals fresh innovations in user interaction within the wireless earbuds segment.
The Nothing Ear 3 is expected to deliver high quality audio, possibly tuned by KEF, following the earlier collaboration between the two brands on the Nothing Headphone 1. The earbuds may include larger diaphragm drivers, support for spatial audio, and wider codec compatibility. Active noise cancellation is expected to reach up to 50dB, an upgrade over the previous generation, along with a battery life of up to 40 hours. Durability ratings are likely to remain at IP54 for the earbuds and IP55 for the charging case.
Pricing for the Ear 3 in India is expected to be above Rs 10,000, with availability through leading e commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Myntra.
