Nothing Phone 4a series likely to debut in early March

After introducing its latest mid-range lineup last year, the UK-based smartphone maker is preparing for its next phase in India and global markets. Nothing has already confirmed a strategic shift away from flagship devices, placing greater emphasis on expanding its mid-range portfolio.

Nothing launched the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro in India in March 2025. Both smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset built on a 4nm process and feature 6.7-inch AMOLED displays. More recently, the company announced it will not introduce any new flagship phones in 2026, choosing instead to focus on upcoming mid-range models expected to be called the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro.

While Nothing has not officially confirmed the launch, a tentative timeline for the new devices has surfaced online. In a post on X, tipster claimed that the Carl Pei-led firm plans to launch the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro in global markets in early March. The leaker added that the two smartphones could be unveiled on March 5.

According to the tip, both models are expected to feature UFS 3.1 internal storage and slightly larger batteries compared to their predecessors. The devices are said to be powered by unspecified Snapdragon chipsets and could launch at a higher price point than the previous generation.

This development follows Nothing’s confirmation that it will skip a flagship smartphone launch this year to concentrate on strengthening its mid-range offerings. If the reported launch date is accurate, the Phone 4a series could arrive around the same time as the Phone 3a lineup did last year.

For context, the Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Pro were launched in India in March 2025 at starting prices of ₹22,999 and ₹27,999 for the base variants with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Phone 3a was offered in Black, Blue, and White colour options, while the Pro variant was available in Black and Grey.

Both devices are powered by the octa-core 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and offer up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. They feature 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED displays with a resolution of 1,080×2,392 pixels, up to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,000Hz touch sampling rate, up to 3,000 nits peak brightness, and Panda Glass protection.
