Nothing has unveiled Nothing OS 4.0, its latest operating system designed to deliver a smoother, faster, and more intuitive user experience. The update introduces a redesigned lock screen, an AI usage dashboard, and several performance and design improvements.
One of the major highlights is the Extra Dark Mode, which refines the company’s signature dark theme. It not only looks cooler but is also more power efficient and easier on the eyes in low-light conditions.
Multitasking has also been improved with the Pop-up View, allowing users to run two floating apps simultaneously. A simple swipe up minimises a window, while pulling down expands it to full screen, making task switching more fluid.
On the privacy front, the new AI Usage Dashboard gives users better control and visibility over their data. It displays daily and weekly usage insights, along with activity from AI models, ensuring greater transparency.
Performance and stability have been fine-tuned, with apps now launching more quickly and running more smoothly. The Camera and Gallery apps have been updated with creative presets, new controls, and an easier layout, making both capturing and browsing photos a more refined experience.
Connectivity and display features also see key upgrades. The lock screen and Always-On Display are now more responsive, brightness controls are clearer, and Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections are stronger. Smaller tweaks, like faster access to Bluetooth recording, further add to overall stability.
Nothing OS 4.0 is currently in beta and will roll out to all users soon.
