NotebookLM expands mobile features with infographic and slide deck customisation

Designed to help users turn research into clear visual outputs, Google’s AI-powered NotebookLM is now extending one of its key presentation features to mobile devices, making on-the-go content creation more flexible for professionals and students.

NotebookLM, Google’s research and note-taking platform, has added customisation options for infographics and slide decks to its mobile apps. These features were first introduced in November 2025, when the platform rolled out several upgrades within a short span. At that time, users could generate infographics and slide decks using Nano Banana and Gemini, but customisation was limited to the web version.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Mountain View-based tech giant confirmed that mobile users will now see a pencil icon next to the Infographics and Slide Decks options inside the tool menu of a notebook. Tapping this icon opens a new interface that allows users to tailor the visual output to their style preferences.

While the core content cannot be edited, as it is generated strictly from the sources added to the notebook, users can adjust how the output looks and feels. For slide decks, users can choose between 2 formats: Detailed Deck and Presenter Slides. The Detailed Deck creates slides with full text and deeper explanations, suited for emails or personal review. Presenter Slides focus on visuals and key talking points, making them better suited for classrooms and office meetings.

Users can also control the length of the slides and add specific requests through a prompt box at the bottom of the screen. Similar options are available for infographics, where users can adjust orientation, length, language, and other elements. However, the “long” length option is currently available only to Google AI Ultra subscribers.

Separately, the NotebookLM team also rolled out full-screen video overviews to the mobile app last week. This feature allows users to generate video-style presentations of their sources, complete with voiceovers and visual slides, directly on their smartphones.
