The company announced that NotebookLM now supports data tables, allowing users to structure information in a clear, comparable format. The update lets users categorise content based on their own priorities, making research analysis simpler and faster. The new tables can be exported to Google Sheets and later converted into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
The data table feature is being introduced through Google Labs and is currently available to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers. Google confirmed that it will be rolled out to “all users in the upcoming weeks”.
With this update, NotebookLM users can also turn meeting transcripts into tables. The platform can “synthesise” information from multiple research papers while tracking key details such as study years, sample sizes and statistics. Once created, the tables remain editable after export to Sheets or Excel.
In a separate update shared on X, Google said NotebookLM now allows users to export Notes and Reports into source code, Google Docs and Google Sheets. The company stated that this feature offers easier file access and enables users to edit content “on-the-go”.
Users can access the export options by opening the Studio Panel, clicking on the ellipses next to Study Guide, Briefing Docs or Saved Notes, and selecting the required file format.
These additions follow recent NotebookLM upgrades that introduced Chat History and Slide Decks. Chat History, available to all mobile and web users, allows conversations to be resumed from where they were left off and helps users review context. The Slide Decks feature lets users refine existing presentation slides and convert storybooks into documents and videos.
With support for structured data and flexible exports, NotebookLM continues to evolve as a comprehensive AI research and productivity platform.
