Noodles & Company has announced the appointment of Joe Christina as its new President and Chief Operating Officer. Christina, a seasoned industry leader, takes over from Brad West, who is retiring after serving as COO for eight years. West will continue with the company as Chief of Staff through June to ensure a smooth transition.
Christina joins the fast-casual chain at a pivotal moment as the company works to revitalize its sales. CEO Drew Madsen, who took the helm last year, is overseeing a major menu overhaul, which will see two-thirds of the menu revamped or replaced in 2025.
Madsen praised Christina’s leadership experience, highlighting his ability to drive operational excellence, strengthen company culture, and unlock growth opportunities. “Joe’s experience as a CEO and operations leader makes him uniquely positioned to lead Noodles & Company through this exciting phase, including the successful execution of our new menu rollout,” Madsen said.
Before joining Noodles & Company, Christina served as CEO of Tijuana Flats, leading the company through a bankruptcy filing and subsequent sale. He also held various leadership roles at Church’s Chicken and Burger King, including EVP of U.S. Operations, CEO, and president at Church’s, and VP of Global Operations at Burger King.
“I’m thrilled to join Noodles & Company at such an exciting time,” said Christina. “The brand has a strong foundation, a differentiated menu, and tremendous growth potential. By focusing on operational excellence, menu innovation, and expanding catering, we will unlock new opportunities for long-term success.”
