The Rural Innovations, Incubation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Centre established at Guntupalli in Ibrahimpatnam block has received financial support of 1.55 crore rupees from NITI Aayog, NTR District Collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha said.
Addressing a media conference at the NTR District Collectorate today, he stated that the approval followed a detailed proposal submitted by the district administration aimed at promoting rural women entrepreneurship.
The initiative aligns with the state government’s vision of “one family-one entrepreneur” and focuses on empowering women, particularly members of self-help groups, through skill development and livelihood opportunities. The sanctioned funds will be utilised for AI-based skill surveys, training programmes and strengthening infrastructure at the RISE Centre.
The centre offers integrated services through dedicated help, idea, skilling, placement, and banking desks. More than 1,000 women have already been trained in areas such as artificial intelligence, spoken English, paper crafts, car driving, micro food processing, and solar panel installation. Workshops on digital commerce platforms and value-added products have also been conducted.
Officials said over 300 families have started small enterprises with support from the initiative. Regular training sessions, field visits, and job melas are being organised in collaboration with partner institutions. The Collector urged interested individuals to utilise the facility for self-employment opportunities.
