Nishant Batra to Step Down as Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Nokia

Nishant Batra, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Nokia and a member of the company’s Group Leadership Team, will step down from his role effective 30 September 2025. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Batra concludes a five-year tenure during which he played a key role in shaping Nokia’s global innovation roadmap and strengthening its leadership in 6G and next-generation network research.

Batra had earlier announced on LinkedIn his decision to join KPIT Technologies Ltd as a Member of the Board of Directors and relocate to Pune, signalling the beginning of a new chapter in his professional journey.

Nokia’s President and CEO, Justin Hotard, expressed his appreciation, stating, “I would like to thank Nishant for his contribution to Nokia over the past five years. He led a transformation of Nokia Bell Labs, helped to position Nokia at the forefront of 6G, accelerated our digital and security transformation, and led the execution of our innovation strategy.”

Before joining Nokia in 2021, Batra served as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Veoneer, a global automotive technology company headquartered in Sweden. Prior to that, he spent 12 years with Ericsson, where he held several leadership roles, including Head of Product Area Networks.

Batra holds an MBA from INSEAD, master’s degrees in Telecommunications and Computer Science from Southern Methodist University in the United States, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications from Devi Ahilya University in India.
