Netradyne, a global leader in AI-driven fleet safety, has announced the launch of its flagship Driver•i D-450 video safety platform and the latest Driver Monitoring System (DMS) Sensor in India.
The D-450 system is a four-camera, AI-powered road safety solution that records and analyses 100% of driving time with ultra-high accuracy. It can detect risky driving behaviours and fatigue in real time. The DMS Sensor, an optional in-cab accessory, specifically tracks driver eye movements to monitor alertness and detect drowsiness.
The launch comes at a critical time as the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in India has mandated the deployment of lane departure warning (LDWS) and driver drowsiness and attention warning systems (DDAWS) in commercial vehicles with a capacity of eight or more passengers from 2026. Netradyne’s solutions are designed in line with these upcoming regulations, addressing issues such as driver distraction, drowsiness, lane discipline, and unsafe behaviour.
The third-generation DMS technology builds on years of sleep research and vast datasets. It can detect early-stage drowsiness and microsleeps using methods such as PERCLOS (Percentage of Eyelid Closure over the Pupil over Time), even in low-light conditions or when drivers are wearing sunglasses.
By combining the D-450 platform with the DMS Sensor, fleet operators gain a comprehensive, regulation-ready safety system. Key features include:
- Full-spectrum AI driver monitoring and coaching: Embedded AI and edge computing continuously monitor every trip, detecting unsafe behaviour, issuing instant alerts, and collecting data to improve driver performance.
- Early drowsiness detection: The DMS Sensor spots subtle signs of fatigue, such as slow eyelid closure or prolonged blinks, enabling audio alerts and coaching to prevent accidents. This feature is vital for passenger transport, hazardous goods movement, highway driving, and employee transport where fatigue is a leading cause of accidents.
- Positive reinforcement: The Driver•i platform recognises safe driving practices, encouraging behavioural change over time.
- Driver scoring system: Netradyne’s GreenZone scoring system offers fleet and safety managers a clear performance dashboard for all drivers, supporting coaching and reward programmes.
“Netradyne is committed to transforming road safety with smarter technology,” said Teja Gudena, EVP-Technology at Netradyne. “Our industry-proven D-450 video safety platform has set a new standard for AI-powered fleet monitoring, and the DMS Sensor add-on brings unprecedented accuracy to driver alertness detection. By launching both in India, we are helping local fleets save lives – identifying drowsy driving before it causes a crash and ensuring our customers stay ahead of upcoming safety regulations.”
With the Driver•i platform already trusted by thousands of fleets worldwide, including in India, the addition of the DMS Sensor gives Indian fleet operators a powerful new tool to strengthen safety standards. Together, the D-450 and DMS Sensor provide precise monitoring and actionable insights, empowering fleets to reduce accidents, improve compliance, and save lives.
