Nemetschek Group to expand India GCC and strengthen global innovation

India is set to play a larger role in Nemetschek Group’s global strategy as the Germany-based software company plans to expand its Global Capability Centre (GCC) and double its workforce in the country by next year.

Under the expansion plan, India will become a key hub for product development, innovation, and customer support for the company’s worldwide operations. Nemetschek currently employs about 170 people in India and supports its full software portfolio through centres of excellence in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The enlarged GCC will focus on building solutions in areas such as generative AI, cloud, DevOps, and customer support, creating capabilities for global markets.

The move signals a shift from decentralised execution teams to structured global excellence centres that combine development and shared services. As part of this approach, the India GCC will also bring together HR, finance, IT, and information security functions to deliver unified support across Nemetschek’s brands.

Senior leadership engagement with Indian customers and partners is increasing as the company follows its “India-for-Global” strategy. Under this model, technologies developed in India will be scaled and deployed internationally. Nemetschek is also working with educational institutions to build local talent in architecture, engineering, and construction software tools.

The expansion comes at a time when many multinational firms are strengthening their GCC presence in India. These centres are no longer limited to support functions and are now central to innovation and long-term growth strategies across industries.

With this step, Nemetschek aims to deepen its footprint in India while aligning global software development with local engineering talent. The move also reinforces India’s growing role as a technology and innovation hub for international companies.
