Neha Barjatya has stepped down from her position as Marketing Director at Google India, ending a remarkable 14-year journey with the company. Her exit marks the close of an important chapter in Google India’s marketing and brand-building story.
During her career at Google, Barjatya was instrumental in driving some of the company’s most impactful initiatives. She played a key role in launching India’s first Great Online Shopping Festival, which transformed the e-commerce landscape. She also contributed to setting up local manufacturing of Google’s Pixel smartphones, ensuring a stronger presence in the country’s mobile market.
Her leadership extended to the introduction of Google’s AI assistant, Gemini, in India, showcasing her ability to align global technology advancements with local needs. Beyond product and brand campaigns, she was also behind social programmes such as the Internet Saathi initiative, designed to bridge the digital divide and empower rural communities across India.
Barjatya’s wide-ranging efforts covered both consumer-focused campaigns and strategic initiatives, from brand positioning to technology adoption. Her work played a crucial role in strengthening Google’s footprint and reputation across India’s rapidly changing digital landscape.
Reflecting on her journey in a LinkedIn post, Barjatya called her time at the company “the ride of a lifetime,” noting how she had grown from the early days of the mobile internet to today’s era shaped by artificial intelligence.
Barjatya next professional move has not yet been revealed, but her departure has sparked curiosity across the industry about what comes next for one of Google India’s most prominent marketing leaders.
