A shocking case of educational fraud has been reported from Kota’s Jawahar Nagar area, where a NEET aspirant was allegedly cheated of ₹8.5 lakh by fellow coaching students who promised to secure him high marks in the medical entrance exam through fraudulent means.
According to the police, the victim, a student from Muzaffarpur in Bihar, had recently returned home after preparing for NEET in Kota. During his stay, a friend named Raj Shukla introduced him to two other students, Aman and Satyam, also from Bihar. The duo claimed they had access to sources who could manipulate NEET results.
The student was allegedly told to submit a blank OMR sheet in the exam and was assured that the answers would be filled in later by insiders in the system. They claimed to have used this method to help several other students in exchange for large amounts of money.
Believing their story and desperate to succeed, the student transferred ₹8.5 lakh to them, using funds that included savings intended for his sister’s wedding. However, after the NEET results were declared, no such changes appeared, and he realised he had been duped.
When confronted, Aman and Satyam allegedly began avoiding the student and later disappeared. Raj Shukla, who had taken ₹1 lakh from the student as an introduction fee, was forced to return ₹80,000 after the victim filed a police complaint.
Investigators have found that the accused used the scammed money on expensive purchases and personal luxuries. The money transfers were traced to the period when the victim was in Bihar. Jawahar Nagar SHO Ram Lakshman Gurjar confirmed that a case has been registered and a search is underway for the two main accused.
The student also suspects that the accused may have targeted other NEET aspirants using similar fake promises. Police believe more victims could come forward once the accused are caught.
Authorities have advised students to remain cautious and immediately report any suspicious claims related to exam manipulation or illegal offers for guaranteed results.
