NASA to livestream Progress 94 cargo launch and ISS docking mission

NASA is set to provide live coverage of the launch and docking of the Progress 94 cargo spacecraft, which will deliver essential supplies to the International Space Station (ISS).

The uncrewed spacecraft, operated by Roscosmos, is scheduled to launch at 7:59 a.m. EDT on March 22 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan aboard a Soyuz rocket. NASA’s live coverage will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will be available on NASA+, Amazon Prime, and the agency’s YouTube channel.

Carrying nearly 3 tons of food, fuel, and supplies, Progress 94 will support astronauts currently aboard the ISS. After a 2-day journey, the spacecraft is expected to dock autonomously at the Poisk module’s space-facing port at approximately 9:34 a.m. on March 24. Live coverage of the rendezvous and docking will begin at 8:45 a.m. across NASA’s streaming platforms.

The spacecraft will remain attached to the orbiting laboratory for about 6 months. It will later depart and undergo a controlled destructive re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere, disposing of waste loaded by the crew.

Ahead of this mission, Progress 92 undocked from the ISS on March 16 and safely burned up over the Pacific Ocean during re-entry.

For over 25 years, the International Space Station has supported continuous human presence in space, enabling scientific advancements that are not possible on Earth. The platform plays a key role in helping NASA prepare for long-duration missions, including future exploration under the Artemis program and potential missions to Mars.
