Motorola confirms January 7 India launch for premium Signature smartphone

Motorola has officially set the stage for the arrival of its next high end smartphone in the Indian market.

The company announced that Motorola Signature will be launched in India on January 7, 2026. The upcoming device is being positioned as a premium offering and has already been teased through official posts and a dedicated Flipkart microsite. While full specifications are yet to be revealed, the design and key features have started to emerge.

According to the teaser, the Motorola Signature will feature a fabric finished rear panel, giving it a distinct and premium look. The phone will sport a flat display with slim and uniform bezels and a centred hole punch cutout for the front camera. The right edge houses the volume rocker and power button, while an additional button is visible on the left edge. This button could function as a camera control or a customisable shortcut for AI access or other features.

Motorola has also hinted at advanced camera hardware. A teaser image confirms a rear camera module that includes a periscope telephoto lens, a feature commonly seen in flagship smartphones aimed at high quality zoom photography.

The device has also appeared on a popular benchmarking platform. The listing showed a single core score of 2,854 and a multi core score of 9,411. It revealed a processor with 2 cores clocked at 3.80GHz and 6 cores at 3.32GHz, paired with an Adreno 829 GPU. These details point to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The listing also indicated support for 16GB RAM and Android 16 out of the box.

Earlier leaks suggest that the Motorola Signature could support a stylus and may be offered in Carbon and Martini Olive colour options. The smartphone is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with 50 megapixel sensors, including a primary Sony Lytia sensor with optical image stabilisation.

With premium design elements, flagship level performance and advanced camera features, the Motorola Signature is shaping up to be a major addition to the brand’s lineup in India.
