In a market where many users still care more about endurance than premium features, Motorola has launched a phone that puts battery life at the centre of the experience.
The Moto G86 Power is aimed at buyers who want a smartphone that can last a full day or more on a single charge, even with heavy use. Positioned in Motorola’s affordable Moto series, the device comes with a massive 6,720mAh battery, which stands out strongly in its price category.
At a price of Rs 17,999, the phone clearly prioritises endurance over design flair and camera performance. While it may not appeal to users looking for a stylish build or advanced photography, it targets commuters and elderly users who value reliability and long battery life.
The phone is available in Pantone Golden Cypress, Pantone Spellbound, Pantone Cosmic Sky, and Pantone Chrysanthemum. The vegan leather back adds texture and grip, while a basic plastic case is included in the box. Despite housing a large battery, the device does not feel overly bulky, thanks to curved edges that improve handling. It also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL STD 810H certification, highlighting its durability.
On the front, the Moto G86 Power features a 6.67 inch Full HD Plus pOLED display with support for 1B colours, a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10 Plus, and up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. The screen delivers vibrant colours and remains readable even under bright sunlight.
Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset paired with 8GB RAM and Motorola’s Hello UI based on Android 15. The phone handles daily tasks and casual games smoothly, though it struggles with graphics heavy titles. Motorola promises 1 OS update and 3 years of security updates, which may feel limited to some users.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra wide camera, and a 32MP front camera. Image quality is acceptable for the segment, though colours can appear oversaturated and digital zoom is limited to 10x.
Battery life is the phone’s biggest strength. Even with moderate to heavy use, the Moto G86 Power is difficult to drain in a single day. Charging is supported by a 33W adapter, taking over 1.5 hours for a full charge.
For users who want a dependable smartphone under Rs 20,000 with exceptional battery life, the Moto G86 Power delivers exactly that, even if performance, cameras, and long term software support remain average.
