Mitiga, the real-time Cloud Detection and Response (CDR) solution for enterprises, has announced the appointment of John Vecchi as chief marketing officer and John Stockel as chief financial officer. These important hires bring decades of experience in cybersecurity and high-growth tech sectors, highlighting Mitiga’s dedication to scaling its operations, broadening its market presence, and reinforcing its role as a vital partner for organizations facing complex cloud security challenges.
Vecchi has substantial experience in bringing enterprise security and technology solutions to market. He has held various CMO and executive leadership positions in cybersecurity firms, including Phosphorus Cybersecurity, Solera Networks, Zscaler, Anonyome Labs, Blue Coat, Check Point Software, and McAfee. His skills encompass global marketing strategy, brand development, and product innovation.
Stockel comes to Mitiga from Deepwatch, where he was instrumental in growing the company from a nascent startup to a prominent Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provider. His broad experience includes finance, operations, and corporate development in rapidly growing cybersecurity and technology companies. He also has investor-side experience from his tenure at ABS Capital, where he concentrated on IT infrastructure and cybersecurity firms, including GuidePoint Security.
As CFO, Stockel will manage Mitiga’s finance, legal, and corporate development areas, facilitating the company’s next stage of hyper-growth. Vecchi, in his role as CMO, will direct global marketing and brand strategy, demand generation, and communications, aiding in the expansion of Mitiga’s footprint in enterprise security markets. Together, they will enhance Mitiga’s influence, tackling the swiftly changing threats that affect multi-cloud environments, SaaS applications, and associated human and non-human identities.
“This is a pivotal time for Mitiga, and I’m excited to build on the company’s momentum and deliver financial strategies to support Mitiga’s strategic objectives and align our resources to continue our innovation and market expansion,” said Stockel. “The cybersecurity space is evolving quickly, and Mitiga is at the forefront with a unique and differentiated solution.”
“I’ve spent my career bringing innovative cybersecurity technologies to market, and Mitiga’s platform is among the most exciting I’ve seen,” Vecchi says. “It’s a rare chance to help shape a category-defining solution at a time of massive cloud transformation, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
