Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has welcomed veteran legal expert Mihir Rale as a Partner and Co-Head of its expanding Digital and TMT (Technology, Media, Telecommunications) division, now part of the firm’s newly launched Digital+ Practice. Based in Mumbai, Rale joins with a rich legacy of over 23 years in legal strategy, M&A, policy, compliance, and governance, with a sharp focus on tech-driven industries.
Previously the General Counsel at Star and Disney India, Rale spent 15 impactful years guiding the legal arm of the entertainment giant through the fast-evolving intersection of technology, intellectual property, regulatory frameworks, and competition law. A 2002 alumnus of ILS Law College, Pune, his career has been deeply intertwined with shaping the regulatory and policy space for digital businesses in India.
Rale’s industry leadership extends beyond corporate corridors. He has co-chaired the FICCI IPR Committee and CII Digital Media Committee, and served as a core member of the FICCI M&E and CII National Regulatory Committees. His strategic expertise now strengthens a team of 30 lawyers and five specialised partners operating from Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore under the Digital+ banner.
