With operations managed by its local staff and complete client control, Microsoft announced Monday that data held by its European cloud customers will remain in Europe in accordance with European law.
American corporations like Microsoft have been forced to disclose additional tab precautions as a result of growing concerns from European governments and businesses about their data being transferred beyond the region and into the hands of nations like the U.S.
As it grows its cloud and AI infrastructure in Europe, Microsoft announced measures in April to secure user data, including adhering to European regulations aimed at limiting the influence of big tech firms.
The business announced on Monday that any remote access by Microsoft engineers to the systems that handle and store European data will be authorized and closely watched by staff members who live in Europe.
According to Microsoft, its sovereign private cloud is now in preview mode and will go live later this year.
