Microsoft unveils AI-powered Surface Copilot+ PCs with built-in 5G at GITEX 2025

Microsoft has introduced its latest Surface for Business Copilot+ PCs in the Middle East, including the new Surface Laptop with built-in 5G, at GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai. The launch reinforces Microsoft’s leadership in AI-powered devices and comes at a time when agentic AI is emerging as a key driver for organizations to modernize ahead of Windows 10 end-of-support.

The new lineup features the Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop, designed to deliver AI acceleration, long battery life, and commercial-grade manageability. Built with next-generation processors such as Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 and Snapdragon X Plus 8-core, these devices are optimized for Copilot+ experiences and enterprise deployment. They also integrate with Microsoft Intune and the Surface Management Portal, giving IT leaders enhanced visibility, policy control, and streamlined device management. Select models offer removable SSDs and serviceable components, simplifying data retention and redeployment.

The announcement aligns with the UAE’s national AI initiatives, including the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 and the Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI, positioning the country as a global AI hub. Microsoft, as the UAE’s AI Partner, supports these goals with responsible AI frameworks, infrastructure, and talent development programs.

Commenting on the launch, Waseem Hashem, Go-To-Market Lead, Microsoft EMEA, said, “With Surface for Business Copilot+ PCs, including our first 5G-enabled Surface Laptop, we are making AI truly useful at the edge, right on the device. This empowers organizations across the region to modernize securely and at scale, supported by a strong ecosystem of OEM partners driving the Copilot+ PC moment. As the UAE accelerates its national AI journey, these devices will give leaders, employees, and innovators the secure, connected tools they need to thrive in a cloud-first, AI-driven economy.”

At GITEX 2025, Microsoft is showcasing agentic AI, where systems act as autonomous agents to reason, plan, and collaborate with people. Joined by 37 partners, Microsoft is demonstrating real-world enterprise use cases and highlighting how AI-powered Surface devices are transforming workplaces across the UAE.
