Meta Platforms is in talks to build a new data center campus for its artificial intelligence initiatives, which might cost more than $200 billion, according to media report.
Top management toured several locations this month, and Meta executives told data center developers that the business is thinking about constructing the campus in states like Louisiana, Wyoming, or Texas, report said.
Investment in artificial intelligence (AI) has increased since the 2022 launch of Microsoft-backed OpenAI’s ChatGPT, as businesses from a variety of industries aim to integrate AI into their goods and services.
A representative for Meta refuted the allegation, claiming that anything more than the company’s data center plans and capital expenditures has already been revealed and is “pure speculation.”
In contrast, Microsoft said that it will invest around $80 billion in data center development in fiscal 2025, while Amazon, the retail behemoth, claimed that its 2025 expenditures would surpass the $75 billion projected for 2024.
