Meta Chief Revenue Officer, John Hegeman to pursue new start-up venture

Meta’s Chief Revenue Officer, John Hegeman, will transition from his current role as he prepares to launch his own start-up, marking a significant moment for the company as it continues to strengthen its focus on AI. His duties will be taken on by Andrew Bocking, who leads Meta’s ad product and strategy team.

Hegeman shared the update in a Facebook post, noting his plans for the next phase of his career. As part of Meta’s ongoing realignment around artificial intelligence, Naomi Gleit, currently head of product, will step into a new position as head of business AI. Clara Shih, who previously led the business AI division, will move on from the company as Meta continues to evolve its organisational structure, according to reports.

Meta has been increasing its investments in AI infrastructure, supported by CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s move to bring various AI efforts together under a newly formed group known as Superintelligence Labs. This restructuring is designed to accelerate Meta’s development of advanced AI capabilities across its platforms.

Earlier this year, Meta also welcomed Alexandr Wang, former Scale AI CEO, to guide these new AI focused initiatives, highlighting the company’s commitment to expanding its leadership in the rapidly growing AI space.
