Magma General Insurance Limited has appointed Mayank Mehta as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). With over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT governance, and risk management, Mayank steps into the role with a strong background in building and leading security programs across various sectors.
Before this, Mayank was the CISO at Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, where he led critical initiatives focused on information security, regulatory compliance, and business continuity planning. He played a key role in shaping the company’s security posture and aligning it with business goals.
His earlier leadership positions at companies like Summit Digitel, Axis Finance, Accelya, and Fullerton India highlight his ability to implement robust security frameworks, oversee audits, and manage vendor relationships and regulatory obligations effectively.
Mayank began his career with roles at Netmagic (NTT), Travelex, and IBM India, gaining hands-on experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability assessments, and global standards like ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS.
Widely respected for his strategic thinking and team leadership, Mayank is expected to play a key role in enhancing Magma’s cybersecurity roadmap and ensuring resilience against the ever-changing threat environment.
With this appointment, Magma General Insurance aims to reinforce its commitment to data protection, secure operations, and regulatory compliance.
