Italian womenswear label MAX&Co set to enter Indian market in partnership with Reliance Brands

The Italian fashion house MAX&Co is preparing to launch in India following a long term master franchise agreement between Reliance Brands Ltd and its parent company Max Mara Fashion Group. The brand will open its first store in Mumbai in early 2026, followed by expansion into major metro cities across the country.

In a joint statement, it was shared that Reliance Brands will bring MAX&Co’s contemporary and quality driven collections to Indian shoppers. The brand is known for its fluid mix and match styling approach and aims to appeal to fashion forward women in India.

Isha Ambani, executive director of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd, said that MAX&Co reflects a bold and modern expression of femininity that aligns with the evolving style preferences of Indian women. She added that the brand’s blend of Italian design heritage and youthful energy will hold strong appeal in the Indian fashion landscape.

The upcoming stores in India will showcase MAX&Co’s full range including apparel, accessories and its seasonal collaboration capsules referred to as andCo.llaboration. These capsules highlight a creative and non conforming design direction that is central to the brand.

According to the company, MAX&Co positions itself as a label that prioritises personal style over passing trends. It aims to inspire originality and creative confidence among women who appreciate individuality in fashion.

The statement noted that the growing interest in modern luxury and globally relevant fashion among Indian consumers makes this a strong moment for the brand to enter the market. MAX&Co is expected to contribute to shaping the next phase of contemporary womenswear in India.

Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti, MAX&Co Brand Divisional Director and Max Mara Fashion Group Board Member, said that partnering with Reliance Brands is a strategic fit due to its experience in developing international premium brands in India. She said that India represents a dynamic and forward thinking market that shares the brand’s enthusiasm for creativity, style and self expression. She added that the mission ahead is to inspire a community of women who embrace confidence, curiosity and a modern attitude.
