In a graceful step toward future growth, the Plamondon Companies have welcomed Matthew Zappone as their new Chief Financial Officer. With decades of rich experience and a remarkable journey across some of the most respected names in business, Matthew arrives poised to shape the financial rhythm of this expanding, family-led enterprise.
His career speaks volumes. From impactful roles at Capital One and Verizon to a 25-year legacy at Marriott International, Zappone’s expertise spans financial leadership, sustainability strategies, and operational support across global divisions. During his time at Marriott, he led the Sustainability Finance team, helping drive investment in energy-saving initiatives for more than 9,000 properties worldwide as part of the Climate Action Program. His financial foresight and strategic depth are now set to empower Plamondon’s next chapter.
Rooted in Frederick, Maryland, the Plamondon Companies encompass two dynamic arms. First is Plamondon Hospitality Partners, which manages 16 hotels under the Hilton, Marriott, and IHG brands across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. The company is currently bringing to life a major new project — a full-service Marriott hotel and conference center along Carroll Creek in Frederick. As CFO, Matthew Zappone will have a central role in guiding these developments.
The second arm is the Roy Rogers Restaurants division, a nostalgic quick-service brand that celebrates western charm. With 23 company-operated restaurants and 16 franchised locations across five states, the brand is eyeing expansion with a new outlet opening soon in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and further opportunities being explored in Northern Virginia.
