Matt Thompson has taken on the role of Chief Financial Officer at Vista Group, stepping up from his previous position as Global Head of Finance within the company. With a tenure that spans six years at Vista Group, Matt’s deep understanding of the company’s financial operations and his strategic leadership have been pivotal to his promotion.
Throughout his time at Vista Group, Matt has been instrumental in overseeing global financial operations, managing complex financial tasks, and serving as a key advisor to both the Board and the Global Senior Leadership Team. His achievements include leading the preparation of results announcement documentation for exchanges, managing relationships with key financial stakeholders such as auditors and bankers, and guiding significant business transformation projects.
Before his tenure at Vista Group, Matt held the position of Head of Group Reporting at Just Eat Takeaway.com in London, where he was integral in managing the company’s financial reporting and played a crucial role in major acquisitions, such as Menulog and Hungryhouse. His expertise in IFRS and his ability to lead financial audits and due diligence projects highlight his comprehensive skill set in financial management.
Matt’s career also includes significant roles such as IPO Consultant for Virgin Active, where he prepared the group for a potential listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, and Interim Financial Consultant at Perenco, where he led the accounts team during a critical transition period.
