Marut Drones Secures DGCA Certification for Skyswift 56 Surveillance Drone

Marut Drones, a domestic drone manufacturer, has received the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Type Certification for its Skyswift 56 surveillance drone. The quadcopter-class rotorcraft is built for surveillance, mapping, and field training. With this approval, Marut Drones has become the first company in India to achieve dual recognition for both drone manufacturing and training.

The Skyswift 56 is equipped to carry multiple payloads, including a first-person-view camera, a 24MP mapping camera with PPK support, a 4K surveillance camera, and thermal imaging equipment. The company stated that the system can be deployed in less than two minutes and can be carried in a backpack, making it suitable for quick operations in the field.

Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO and Co-Founder of Marut Drones, said, “Skyswift 56 emerges as a timely solution” at a time when security requirements are increasing. The drone is designed to deliver silent, compact, and high-precision surveillance. It can be used for covert reconnaissance, patrolling, law enforcement, and public safety operations. Built with weather-resistant and shock-absorbent features, it is capable of reaching speeds of up to 15 metres per second, allowing effective coverage of large areas.

The DGCA certification strengthens Marut Drones’ position as a leader in India’s drone manufacturing industry and highlights its focus on providing mission-ready solutions to meet critical national security and operational needs.
