Tipsters indicate March price hike likely for OnePlus performance smartphone in India

Fresh market indications suggest that buyers may soon see a pricing change in India’s competitive premium smartphone segment. The performance-focused OnePlus 15R, launched in December 2025, could receive a Market Operating Price (MOP) revision as early as March, according to industry tipsters.

The device was introduced at a starting price below Rs. 50,000 and positioned just below the flagship lineup from OnePlus. It currently competes closely with the recently launched offering from iQOO.

Citing sources, tipster Abhishek Yadav claimed in an X post that a price hike is being planned. In a follow-up post, the tipster suggested that the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant may soon be priced at Rs. 51,999. The higher 12GB + 512GB configuration could see a revised price of Rs. 56,999. Another tipster, Debayan Roy, supported these claims, stating that prices may increase by around Rs. 3,000–Rs. 4,000.

The updated MOP is expected to take effect from March 1 across sales channels. For reference, the smartphone was originally launched at Rs. 47,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the 12GB + 512GB variant debuted at Rs. 52,999.

As part of ongoing offers, customers using cards from Axis Bank and HDFC Bank can currently reduce effective prices to Rs. 44,999 and Rs. 47,999.

Compared to its predecessor, the device already saw a price increase of about Rs. 5,000, partly linked to the global shortage of memory components. A technology publication review noted that the handset delivers near-flagship performance while remaining below flagship pricing territory.

Meanwhile, the rival device from Vivo’s sub-brand could gain a pricing advantage if the reported revision comes into effect.
