Homegrown digital maps and technology company MapmyIndia Mappls has announced two major partnerships with the Survey of India and the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL). These collaborations mark a significant step in expanding the company’s presence in government and infrastructure sectors.
Under the agreement, MapmyIndia Mappls will power the Survey of India’s National Geo Platform, a unified national geospatial system aimed at managing and sharing foundational datasets. The platform will include key data such as administrative boundaries, digital elevation models, geodetic reference frames, and geographical names. It will offer seamless access to accurate and authoritative spatial data through web services, APIs, and mobile applications, enabling greater interoperability and collaboration between government departments, academia, and industries.
In its partnership with IOCL, the company will design and implement an integrated, enterprise-level vehicle tracking and management system for IOCL’s entire fleet of LPG trucks across India. The IoT-based suite will include features such as geofencing, route generation and optimisation, journey risk management, fleet visibility, and emergency response tools to enhance driver safety, asset security, and cost efficiency.
According to the company, these new agreements will strengthen MapmyIndia Mappls’ platforms and IoT solutions while expanding its footprint in government-led digital and infrastructure projects. Together with its existing collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and an anticipated contract with the Indian Railways, these partnerships position the company for wider growth in the public sector.
Rakesh Verma, Co-founder, Chairman and Managing Director of MapmyIndia Mappls, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We are proud to offer solutions and technology to two of India’s leading organisations that are of immense national importance — the Survey of India, India’s premier topographic mapping agency for over two centuries, and the Indian Oil Corporation, India’s leading oil manufacturing and marketing Maharatna company.”
These partnerships reinforce MapmyIndia Mappls’ vision of driving technological innovation and digital transformation across India’s critical sectors through advanced mapping, geospatial, and IoT solutions.
