Mahender Chhabra Appointed CFO of Tenneco India

Wishing Mr. Mahender Chhabra greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

Tenneco, the globally renowned automotive systems and components manufacturer, has officially appointed Mahender Chhabra as Chief Financial Officer for its operations in India. The appointment, which is effective immediately, marks a key leadership addition to Tenneco’s India team as it strengthens its financial strategy and operational agility.

In his new role, Chhabra will lead the financial roadmap for Tenneco’s Indian business units, spanning Clean Air, Monroe Ride Solutions, Champion Ignition, and Powertrain segments, which include Bearings and Sealing. He will report to Arvind Chandra, Chief Executive Officer of Tenneco India, and partner closely with the broader leadership team to guide financial planning, ensure compliance, and optimise performance across verticals.

Welcoming the appointment, Chandra remarked, “Mahender’s experience in financial management will help us enhance our focus on operational execution and customer delivery.”

Chhabra brings with him more than 27 years of in-depth experience across financial leadership roles in the automotive and technology industries. Prior to joining Tenneco, he served as the CFO at Motherson Sumi Wiring India Limited. His earlier tenures included influential positions at HMD Mobile India, Microsoft India, Bharti Airtel, and Pepsi Foods. Throughout his career, he has overseen critical functions such as business planning, financial transformation, and global controller roles that have contributed to strategic growth and efficiency.

Academically, Chhabra is a graduate in Commerce from Maharishi Dayanand University and a distinguished member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

As Tenneco India continues its journey of innovation and operational expansion, Chhabra’s leadership is expected to reinforce its commitment to excellence and customer-centric growth.
