Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis voiced his optimism that Maharashtra state will soon lead India’s AI and technology revolution. The state government is using technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to speed up the economy and administration.
Srikanth Velamkanni of Nasscom conducted an interview with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during today’s Nasscom Technology and Leadership Summit at the Hotel Grand Hyatt.
According to Chief Minister Fadnavis, the majority of government services are now accessible online, and the state’s level of digital services has grown. At Mumbai University, the state government has established an AI center. They have established an industry hub in collaboration with the World Economic Forum.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the state has set a goal of taking the economy to 1 trillion dollars, adding “For this, the state is preparing a new economic roadmap in collaboration with the NITI Aayog. Efforts are being made to make the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMRDA) the hub of a $1.5 trillion economy.”
Maharashtra is home to 60 percent of the nation’s data centers. According to a state government statement, a data center park is being constructed in New Mumbai, and by 2030, 50% of the state’s electricity would come from renewable sources.
The ‘fintech capital’ of India, he added, is Mumbai.
The chief minister has announced that Nashik would host the Kumbh Mela in 2027. Here, state-of-the-art security, crowd control, and virtual experience measures will be implemented. He also commended the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for conducting the Maha Kumbh Mela so well on this occasion.
According to CM Fadnavis, initiatives are underway to use agricultural technology to increase farmers’ incomes. The whole agricultural process is being digitalized under the ‘Agri-Stat’ project. By offering drone instruction, the ‘Drone Shakti’ initiative aims to lower the cost of agricultural spraying.
This ‘Innovation City’ would be among the most modern cities in the nation, the chief minister stated, adding that the third Mumbai will be built in the vicinity of Navi Mumbai International Airport. This metropolis will be built on three hundred acres, with a focus on artificial intelligence, cutting-edge research, and technology.
Additionally, he stated that GCC Parks will be constructed in Maharashtra’s Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, Pune, and Mumbai. Additionally, the Chief Minister called on business and technology professionals to provide their thoughts and suggestions.
