Maharashtra signs 19 MoUs worth ₹14.5 lakh crore on first day of WEF

The Maharashtra government on Monday signed 19 Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with investment commitments worth ₹14.5 lakh crore, with the potential to generate over 15 lakh jobs. The agreements were signed on the first day of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.

In a statement, the state government said the MoUs span multiple sectors and reflect strong global confidence in Maharashtra’s consumer markets, infrastructure preparedness, and long-term growth outlook.

Soon after inaugurating the Maharashtra pavilion, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state is receiving a positive response from global investors. He added that the ‘Third Mumbai’ project being developed by the state government is also attracting significant interest.

During the day, Fadnavis held several business-to-government meetings with major global companies operating across sectors such as consumer goods, beverages, hospitality, logistics, urban development, green steel, and digital infrastructure.

The chief minister was joined by Industries Minister Uday Samant and senior state officials during these meetings, as the government continued efforts to attract large-scale investments and strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a preferred investment destination.
