Maharashtra Inks Landmark Pact with Global Giant Blackstone to Build Modern Logistics Parks

In a significant move to transform Maharashtra’s industrial landscape, the state has entered into a major partnership with global investment powerhouse Blackstone Group. The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines the creation of more than 10 advanced logistics and industrial parks at pivotal locations across the state, marking a fresh chapter of infrastructure-driven growth.

The monumental agreement, valued at ₹51.27 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), is set to spark the creation of over 27,500 employment opportunities, both direct and indirect, signaling a boost for the local economy.

The signing ceremony took place at Mumbai’s Sahyadri Guest House, where Dr P Anbalagan, Principal Secretary of Industries, and R K Narayanan, President of Horizon Industrial Parks — a key Blackstone entity — formalised the collaboration. The event was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who hailed the initiative as “transformative,” alongside Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, top government officials including Ashwini Bhide, P Velarasu, and Blackstone leaders Tuhin Parikh, Alok Jain, and Ashish Agarwal.

The parks will rise across a vast area of 794.2 acres, with a total built-up space of 18.5 million square feet, in strategic zones such as Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Khandwa, Sinnar, and Panvel — locations chosen for their prime connectivity and potential as future logistics corridors.

In alignment with the newly framed Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024, these developments are envisioned as smart, sustainable, and technologically empowered hubs. They are expected to enhance logistics efficiency, empower supply chains, and draw long-term investments into the state.

“This initiative will help us create world-class logistics and industrial ecosystems that will strengthen India’s manufacturing ambitions and position Maharashtra as a top investment magnet,” said CM Fadnavis.

Each park will be designed with green infrastructure elements and digital capabilities, offering seamless integration for next-gen supply chain and warehousing solutions.

Maharashtra’s pact with Blackstone is not just a deal — it’s a vision cast in concrete, steel, and code, shaping the state’s rise as a new-age economic powerhouse.
