The Magnum Ice Cream Company (TMICC) announced a strategic partnership with Chilean AI startup NotCo AI to drive innovation in its ice cream and frozen dessert offerings. The collaboration aims to leverage AI technology to create new flavours ice cream, develop plant-based options, optimise nutritional profiles, and reduce manufacturing costs.
“AI is no longer limited to digital applications. With agentic capabilities and advanced robotics, it is increasingly entering the physical space,” TMICC said in a statement. “Partnering with NotCo AI allows us to accelerate demand-driven innovation and growth for the future of ice cream.”
The AI platform, Giuseppe AI, is described as the world’s first foundational AI system specifically designed for consumer packaged goods (CPG). Trained on a decade-long proprietary dataset of food and consumable properties, Giuseppe AI helps companies solve complex manufacturing challenges and create products with improved nutritional profiles, including lower sugar, fat, and calorie content.
TMICC plans to initially deploy the technology in the US market, with potential expansion to other international markets depending on results. NotCo AI has already implemented Giuseppe AI with multiple food and beverage companies, demonstrating its ability to optimise product development and manufacturing processes.
As one of the world’s largest ice cream manufacturers and the parent company of Ben & Jerry’s, Cornetto, Klondike, and Popsicle, TMICC expects this collaboration to enhance its product portfolio and meet the growing demand for healthier, innovative frozen desserts.
