IBM Consulting has announced the appointment of Lula Mohanty as its new Managing Partner for the Middle East and Africa region. A seasoned leader with over 25 years at IBM, Mohanty will now be responsible for shaping the firm’s strategy, operations, and team across 13 countries in this dynamic and growing region.

In her new role, she will lead IBM Consulting’s efforts to deliver innovative digital and technology solutions to clients across both the public and private sectors. The firm has a strong presence in the region, delivering high-impact projects across nearly all countries from its key offices.

“I am honoured to lead IBM Consulting in the Middle East and Africa at a time of remarkable transformation,” said Mohanty. “What excites me about the Middle East and Africa is the pace of ambition and the willingness to lead. There is so much opportunity in this region, and I’m looking forward to keeping IBM Consulting at the forefront of the regional consulting and technology landscape.”

Before this role, Mohanty served as IBM Consulting’s Global Managing Partner for Strategic Sales. Her leadership also extended to managing global delivery centers in India and the Philippines, delivering IT and business process services to clients worldwide.

Speaking about her plans for the region, she added, “Being a consulting company inside a technology company, IBM Consulting is uniquely positioned to provide a full spectrum of services and integration capabilities to our clients. Our fundament enables us to elevate our position beyond traditional consulting firms and system integrators to unlock the full potential of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.”

Lula Mohanty is also part of IBM’s Acceleration team, which drives strategy and transformation initiatives, and a leader in IBM’s Industry Academy. Additionally, she supports women empowerment through her work with the Bridge Foundation.
