In this role, Johnson will lead the airline’s people operations strategy and oversee key HR service delivery functions that support employees throughout the entire workforce lifecycle. Before joining Virgin Atlantic, Johnson served as Senior Manager – HR Operations at PlayStation. During her tenure, she contributed to major HR transformation initiatives and operational improvement programs designed to support the company’s global workforce. Her work focused on enhancing HR systems, strengthening operational efficiency and supporting broader people strategy initiatives.
Earlier, Johnson worked as Head of People Operations and Insights at Infogrid. In that position, she led HR policy development, people analytics and operational HR functions within the fast-growing technology organization.
Prior to that, she spent more than 4 years at Nuffield Health, including serving as Head of People Operations. She managed a large HR services team delivering support to more than 16,000 employees across payroll, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development and employee advisory services.
Johnson also built extensive HR shared services experience during her time at Atkins. Over more than a decade, she held multiple HR leadership roles including HR Shared Services Manager and HR Manager. In these positions, she oversaw HR service delivery for thousands of employees and led transformation programs involving HR case management systems and employee self-service platforms.
She began her international HR leadership journey with Isaac Newton Group in Spain as Head of Personnel, where she supported multinational employees across Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
With extensive experience across HR operations, shared services leadership and workforce transformation, Johnson’s appointment strengthens Virgin Atlantic’s focus on delivering efficient and people-centered HR operations.
