Lucknow Cyber Cell Busts Major Online Betting Scam, Seizes ₹1.07 Crore and 103 Phones

The Lucknow Cyber Cell has conducted the largest online scam operation in the city, revealing a nationwide fake betting scheme. A joint police operation led to the recovery of ₹1.07 crore in cash, the arrest of 16 suspects, and the seizure of 103 mobile phones, exposing a widespread digital fraud network.

The massive bust took place on July 23, 2025, at a flat in Smriti Apartment, Jankipuram. Lucknow Police executed the operation, targeting individuals who were running an online betting scam through a fraudulent platform named ‘Lotus Gaming.’

The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in a sophisticated scheme that defrauded numerous people across India. The seizure of a large sum of cash and a multitude of mobile devices indicates the scale and organized nature of the criminal enterprise.

“This operation marks a crucial victory against cybercrime in Lucknow and beyond,” stated a representative from the Lucknow Cyber Cell. “We are committed to dismantling these fraudulent networks that prey on unsuspecting citizens and will continue our relentless efforts to bring perpetrators to justice.”

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to identify more victims and further unravel the intricate web of this nationwide cyber scam. This crackdown serves as a vital reminder of the pervasive threat of online fraud and the importance of vigilance against deceptive betting and investment platforms.
